Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of Cycloscape at cycloscape.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Cycloscape.
2. The service
Cycloscape lets you upload GPX route files and turns them into immersive, rideable 3D worlds that you can view and ride, including on an indoor trainer. Features may change as the service evolves.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your access secure. You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate information.
3b. Cycloscape Pro
Cycloscape is free to use. Cycloscape Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds the features listed on the pricing page. It is billed monthly or yearly (Founders: yearly, at the Founder price) at the price shown when you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Free trial, once. The monthly and yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial, one per person: one per email address. If you have had Cycloscape Pro before (a trial or a paid subscription, on this account or on an earlier one with the same email), a new subscription starts without a trial and is charged straight away. The Founder plan has no trial. You are not charged during the trial: cancel before it ends and you pay nothing; otherwise the first payment is taken when it ends.
- Activation codes. An activation code gives the discount it describes, for example a first month free, on a new monthly subscription. You enter it on the payment page, which shows the discount, and the price you will pay after it, before you subscribe. A subscription started with a code has no free trial. Each code can be used a limited number of times, and some only by people who have never had Cycloscape Pro or its trial. When the discounted period ends, the subscription renews at the regular monthly price unless you cancel before.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and the price is charged to your payment method, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. You can also pause billing for 1 to 8 weeks in Settings; it then resumes on its own at the same price.
- No refunds after the trial. Once the free trial has ended, payments are not refundable, including for the unused part of a billing period when you cancel. This does not limit your right of withdrawal as a consumer, below.
- Price changes. We may change the price of Pro for future billing periods. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, so you can cancel before it does. The Founder price does not rise while your Founder subscription stays active.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Pro is suspended until it goes through, and the subscription may end if it cannot be collected.
- Closing your account. If you ask us to close your account, we also cancel your subscription.
Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU and the UK). You may withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving any reason. If your subscription started with the free trial, the first 7 of those days are the trial, so cancelling during it costs nothing. Because you ask for Pro to start as soon as you subscribe, if you withdraw after the trial has ended but within the 14 days, we refund what you have paid minus an amount proportional to the days of Pro you have already had. To withdraw, send a clear statement to info@cycloscape.com before the 14 days end, for example: “I withdraw from my contract for the Cycloscape Pro subscription, subscribed on [date], account email [email], name [name], date [date].” We refund within 14 days of receiving it, to the payment method you used.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the GPX files and routes you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you. You confirm you have the right to upload it and that it does not infringe the rights or privacy of others.
4b. Custom jerseys
With Cycloscape Pro you can upload photos of a jersey for your rider to wear. Your rider wears it in your rides, in group rides (where other riders see it), and in the photos and films of your rides.
- Your responsibility. You confirm that the design is yours, your club’s or your team’s, or that you have permission to use it, and that it contains nothing offensive, hateful, sexual or unlawful. Logos and marks on a jersey belong to their owners; showing them on your rider does not mean they endorse you or Cycloscape.
- What you let us do. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store the photos you upload and the jersey we make from them, and to display that jersey on your rider wherever your rider appears, until you delete it.
- Removal. We remove any jersey that breaks these terms, and any jersey whose rights holder asks us to. To report one, email info@cycloscape.com with a link to the ride or a description of the jersey; we act on reports promptly. Removing a jersey does not change ride photos or films already shared: those can be reported from their own page.
- Deleting yours. You can delete any of your jerseys in your garage at any time. If your Pro membership ends, your rider goes back to your kit colours.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempting to breach security or access other users’ data, no uploading unlawful content or other people’s private data without permission, and no actions that overload or disrupt the systems.
6. Third-party services
Google sign-in and the optional Strava connection are provided by third parties and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of those integrations is subject to them, including the rides you choose to upload to Strava from Cycloscape.
7. Intellectual property
The Cycloscape software, design, brand, and the generated visual assets are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative works from them except as the service allows.
7b. No reverse engineering or asset extraction
Cycloscape runs in your browser, so its code and its 3D worlds are delivered to your device to be ridden — not to be taken. You may not, and may not help anyone else to:
- Reverse engineer the service. Decompile, disassemble, de-minify or otherwise try to reconstruct Cycloscape’s source code, algorithms, world-generation rules or interfaces, including with automated or AI-assisted reverse-engineering tools.
- Extract our assets. Download, copy, scrape, capture or export the 3D models, textures, painted horizons, world data, curated routes, audio or other content we deliver for use outside the service, whether one by one or in bulk. Some of these assets are licensed to us by third parties and may only be used inside Cycloscape.
- Scrape or bulk-access the service. Use bots, crawlers or scripts to harvest pages, routes, rides, profiles or API responses, or to call our servers in ways a normal ride or visit would not.
- Get around limits. Bypass, disable or tamper with Pro access checks, watermarks, usage limits or any other protection.
These restrictions apply except to the extent the law where you live expressly allows such activity despite a contractual restriction. Breaking them may lead us to suspend or close your account and to take legal action.
8. Safety — not for real-world navigation
Cycloscape is for indoor and virtual riding and for entertainment. The generated worlds are stylized approximations of real routes and must not be used for real-world navigation or any safety-critical purpose. When riding outdoors, always rely on real-world conditions and follow all local traffic laws.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated worlds will be accurate.
9b. YouTube
Cycloscape uses YouTube API Services to upload a ride film to your own channel as a YouTube Short, and only if you choose to connect it. By connecting your channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. What we access and store is set out in section 4b of our Privacy Policy, and you can revoke our access at any time from Google’s security settings.
9c. Performance Lab
Performance Lab, a Cycloscape Pro feature, shows estimates computed from your rides, such as estimated FTP, cardiac drift, aerobic efficiency, durability and training load. They are indicative figures for your own training, not medical advice, and Cycloscape is not a medical device. Do not rely on them to diagnose, treat or monitor any health condition. Consult a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, and stop riding and seek help if you feel unwell.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cycloscape is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.
11. Termination
You may stop using Cycloscape and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are unaffected.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use of the service means you accept the updated terms.
